Reaccreditation procedure & transitional measures
For the already accredited EFCB institutes EBTN has established a re-accreditation procedure and transitional measures to become Triple E EFCB accredited.
Reaccreditation procedure
- The competent body to reaccredit the present EFCB accredited institutes is the Triple E Committee of EBTN;
- There is no automatic re-accreditation but a review procedure concerning the expansion of the learning outcomes at national level, if applicable, institutional aspects and a more in depth procedure concerning assessment/examination and continuous professional development (CPD);
- The reaccreditation process is free of charge;
- Concerning the institutional accreditation the institute has to submit the Triple E EFCB Application Form (together with the relevant documentation) which will be reviewed by the EBTN Triple E Committee;
- The institute will be asked to describe in a concise way its EFCB examination procedures and its exam analysis system;
- The institute has to submit one full examination paper in the original language of which 10% of the questions is translated in the English language;
- On request of the Triple E Committee the institute may be asked to provide more questions.
- On request of the Triple E Committee the institute may be asked to provide statistical information concerning the examination/assessment;
- The institute has to describe their CPD procedure, the estimated workload and accepted activities;
- The institute has to submit a yearly report to the EBTN secretariat containing all relevant
examination - and CPD information. the content of this report will be defined by EBTN; - The reaccreditation procedure is open as of 1 January 2016;
- The institute will be informed of the decision of the EBTN Board of Directors, regarding the reaccreditation as an EFCB accredited Triple E institute, within 60 days after submitting the application.
Transitional measures
- The present EFCB accredited institutes aiming to be accredited as Triple E EFCB institute should submit its application before 1 January 2017;
- The present EFCB accredited institutes are entitled to issue EFCB certificates under the “old” accreditation and standard examination model for EFCB programmes started before 1 January 2017.
- The abovementioned dates are a very strong recommendation, only in exceptional circumstances the Board of Directors of EBTN can decide, in individual cases, to extend the transitional period.
Upgrading EFCB to Triple E EFCB
- Accredited institutes can ask to EBTN to upgrade the “old” EFCB to Triple E EFCB after the old EFCB certificate holders have complied once with the yearly CPD requirement of at least 10 hrs (1 Triple E VET Credit);
- The accredited institute has in this case to describe the CPD procedure, the estimated workload, the accepted activities and the validation procedure and submit that to Triple E Committee of EBTN;
